December Update The bricks that blocked the windows between the church and the hall have been removed allowing the light to enter into the church from the hall's new roof windows. The new toilets at the back of the church are in use as is the store room accessed via the Wesley Hall.
September Update Work has started on creating a door between the Sanctuary and the Hall and the new disabled toilet that occupies the area where the servery was has now been handed over and is in use.
June Update . Work has started, the forecourt has been partitioned off and access is via the Oasis Door at the side of the church.
What the Redevelopment Works entail
We are planning a major redevelopment of the church building to improve disabled access throughout, including a changing places facility.
This is the existing ramp that is steep and difficult to use. It is the only wheelchair access that connects the two levels of the church building.
The front of the church will be altered, providing a sweeping ramp up into the floor level of the newly refurbished church hall that will be on the same level as the sanctuary. The hall kitchen will be moved to the back of the hall to accommodate the ramp, as will the toilet facilities. There will be direct access between the hall and the sanctuary via a connecting door and the windows between the hall and the church will be exposed.
The bookstall will operate from lockable cupboards along the ramp and there will be a reception/bookstall desk at the base of the ramp.
