Boys' Brigade is the oldest national voluntary organisation for
boys. Founded in 1883 and now found in over 60 countries across the world. The
object of the Boys' Brigade is the advancement of Christ's Kingdom among boys
and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Self- Respect, and all
that tends towards a true Christian manliness. The company is divided into 3
sections, In the Anchor Boys (5-8 years), the emphasis is on games and fun
activities while the Juniors (8-11 years) there is a mixture of games,
achievements and badge work. Subjects covered include first aid, bicycle
safety, Bible Study, map reading, crafts, cooking and music
In the Company Section boys (11-16 years) take part in a range of
activities as well as working for their Presidents and Queen's badges. Officers are volunteers and have to
undergo training, which is organised by the BB nationally or locally. The company meets every Monday in term time at the Church.
6.30-8.00 pm All Ages
All sections wear a uniform that
consists of a blue polo or buttoned shirt, red or blue sweatshirt and grey or
black trousers. Uniform is hired and replaced as and when necessary.
